Ala Moana, explains that customers are raving about the new Purple Rice Yogurt ($7.99) featuring original and mango varieties.
“Purple rice has a deep black color, but it turns pur- ple when cooked,” Mawloud says. “Sometimes, people call it black rice. It grows mainly in Asia and is slightly chewy with a nutty flavor. Purple rice has similar calo- ries to white or brown rice, but contains more protein, iron and antioxidants.
“Moreover, it is known to positively affect heart health and cholesterol, digestion and liver function,” Mawloud adds.
“The original is the most recognized and popular amongst our customers, and if someone is looking for a tropical and fruity palate, the mango purple rice is a must try.”
The Alley has also partnered with anime show Chainsaw Man to offer two new drinks: Chainsaw Man Mango Lulu and Chainsaw Man Strawberry Lulu ($8 each). With a purchase of these special drinks, fans will receive character-themed stickers, cup sleeves and straw accessories.
