Tucked away along Kaimuki Avenue sits Sekiya’s Restaurant & Delicatessen, a decades-old eatery that has made a name for itself with generations of locals. It’s known for friendly service — and variety great food — that ensures all diners truly feel like family.
“We’re hoping people are staying safe during this time,” says chef/manager Trey Paresa. “We’re open and ready to serve. We invite people to come and eat — safely, of course.”
The timing is perfect, with the celebration of Father’s Day today (June 21), and Paresa has a special Father’s Day Rib-eye and Shrimp Tempura Combination ($26.95) that’ll make Dad plenty happy.
Grab-and-go is still available, and Paresa suggests one of Sekiya’s special plate lunches ($10.99). Choose from yakitori, marinated fried chicken, chicken katsu, tonkatsu or hamburger curry as the main dish, and enjoy two scoops of rice and a side order of tsukemono.
Sekiya’s popular okazuya remains open (average prices are anywhere from $1 to $3), though some items are currently not available at this time.
According to Paresa, patrons can still order takeout and pickup curbside, or order through Bite Squad.
