Lounge with a decadent drink

Butterfly Lemonade ($10)

For more than 40 years, Hy’s Steak House in Waikiki has offered an elegant fine-dining experience, known for its tender steaks cooked over Hawaiian kiawe wood. Now, under new lead bartender, Yukie Aizawa, the restaurant has a new bar program for guests to indulge in.

Smoke & Bitters ($25)

“Hy’s has always been a staple of steakhouse classics, like our superb whiskey and brandy collection featuring Macallan 25 or Louis XIII. Now, we also have fun and innovative new cocktails to accompany any part of the meal,” states Ariana Tsuchiya, corporate manager and sommelier.

Sophia Loren ($8)

Smoke & Bitters ($25) was inspired by the ambiance of Hy’s library room and the feeling of relaxing with a cigar after a long working day. It features Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao, Averna Amaro, and bitters and is served tableside with mesquite smoke – rousing warm notes of coffee while also complementing the restaurant’s famous steaks.

Trevor’s Endeavor ($18)

Trevor’s Endeavor ($18) was named after a birthday boy with a prince charming look who wanted a not-too-sweet drink. The beautiful beverage macerates fresh strawberries with CîrocVodka, cognac, and sparkling wine and pairs well with chilled oysters.

Kuhio Sangria (call for price)

For an aperitif or to complement steaks, try the Tanaka 1789 x Chartier Sake ($30 glass, $150 bottle). Meticulously crafted at the Tanaka Shuzo brewery in Miyagi, Japan, the luxury blend creates a harmony of flavors, awakening taste buds with a unique natural acidity.

The bar and lounge accepts walk-ins; however, reservations are encouraged, especially Wednesday-Sunday evenings when there is a live acoustic guitar player.
