Partake in some elevated tastes

Rainbow Cake ($6), MW Buttermilk Valrhona
Chocolate Cake ($6) and Artizen Cookies (six for $7)

Artizen by MW has a new location at Velocity Honolulu on the corner of Kapiolani Boulevard and Ward Avenue.

Artizen by MW features a takeout concept with morning breakfast, including coffee and freshly baked pastries, lunch selections, and take-home dinners for customers’ ease and comfort.

It constantly evolves and change the menus to focus on different farmers, ranchers, fishermen, and local businesses with different themes. For the first time, Artizen is now featuring a brunch menu. Besides weekend brunch, other highlights of the restaurant include a weekly pastry and dessert menu, specials and theme days in the future, “save it for later” items, and a juice and smoothie program. The eatery also plans to roll out a happy hour menu.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, restaurant management had to adapt by implementing an affordable and constantly evolving takeout program.

During this period, Artizen by MW created hundreds of recipes that they could implement in the future. In addition, to support local businesses and markets, Artizen by MW created the “marketplace” and “save it for later” concepts. When they moved to the Velocity Honolulu location, management knew they wanted to bring Artizen back, but in a different style and way. The takeout program established at MW has become the new Artizen by MW.

One of the delicious dishes at Artizen by MW is the Ludovico Farms Chicken Piccata ($20), with linguine and white wine lemon sauce. It has 100 percent Hawaii-grown premium chicken, recognized by the Hawaii Department of Agriculture’s Seal of Quality. J. Ludovico Farms, a family-owned operation, is an Oahu chicken farm focused on pasture-raised poultry for meat.

Some sweet items available are Rainbow Cake ($6), MW Buttermilk Valrhona Chocolate Cake ($6) and Artizen Cookies (six for $7).

The Rainbow Cake is a tribute to local nostalgic desserts. It was chef Michelle’s mother’s favorite special occasion cake from Dee Lite Bakery.

The MW Buttermilk Valrhona Chocolate Cake is a tribute to dobash cake, and the Artizen cookies are a play off MW Grandma’s Cookies without nuts.

A few other bestsellers are Mochi Crusted Fish (available for lunch and dinner), Hamachi Kama for dinner and a Blueberry Yuzu Scone.
