With Christmas right around the corner, Shokudo Japanese Restaurant & Bar has got you covered with festive party platters and sake specials to celebrate. Expect everything from sets that can feed a family of five to the famous individual dishes that Shokudo has become so well-known for — we’re lookin’ at you Honey Toast!
First up are the party pans (see breakout box on page 5 for prices and details) that come in half and full sizes. Enjoy katsu and karaage platters or go local with teri chicken or salmon.
Fresh fish fanatics will find their new favorite in the Sushi/Sashimi Takeout Party Platter ($100) that includes the restaurant’s most popular rolls and fresh seafood slices of ahi, salmon and hamachi. Rounding out the rolls are the Rainbow Roll (a California-style concoction topped with fresh tuna, salmon and hamachi, along with avocado and shrimp); Red Eye Roll (with homemade spicy tuna, cucumber and fresh ahi sashimi, topped with a sweet Japanese dashi); and Mermaid Roll (shrimp tempura and cucumber topped with homemade spicy tuna mix — sweet, zesty and crunchy all in one bite).
Those 21 and older can snag one of two sake/gift card packages, both of which come with a $15 Shokudo gift card. $50 gets you a 720-milliliter bottle of Dassai 45; and for $75, get a 720-milliliter Dassai 39 bottle.
It’s a way for Shokudo to say “thank you” to its loyal patrons — and introduce them to some stellar sake!
“We are extremely grateful for all of our patrons who have been frequenting us and we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” shares Ko.
As Shokudo prepares for the busy holiday season, it’s also looking forward to 2021 and all the milestones it’ll bring — keep up with what’s going on at its Kapiolani Boulevard location on social media (Instagram @shokudojapanese; Facebook, search “shokudojapanese.hawaii”).
“We have a bunch of promotions lined up for the first quarter of next year, and we are still in the process of finalizing our offerings for the New Year, Valentine’s Day and, of course, our anniversary month in March,” Ko adds. “This is a difficult time for everyone; a lot of individuals and businesses are struggling. We will continue to work hard to deliver excellent service and a delicious meal to all of those who visit us! Happy holidays to everyone and please stay safe.”
