The Kahala Hotel & Resort certainly knows how to ring in the New Year. The luxury, beachfront locale has been gearing up for celebrations with special menus at its inhouse restaurants, including Hoku’s and Plumeria Beach House.
There may be no better place to bid 2020 a final farewell than at an award-winning restaurant like Hoku’s on New Year’s Eve.
From 5:30-8:30 p.m., guests can partake in an evening of glamor while enjoying a grand tasting menu ($400).
Expect delicacies like Butter Poached Hawaiian Sweet Prawns, Foie Gras Torchon Chaud Froid, Grilled Japanese Toro, Butter Poached Kona Lobster, Christmas Goose, Herb Roasted “Dry Aged” Snake River Farms Beef and more. A wine pairing can even be added for further merriment($80 per person).
Meanwhile, over at Plumeria Beach House, the casual dining restaurant is slated to offer a buffet (adults $105; children $52.50) from 5 to 9 the same night.
Relish in the ocean breeze while sitting in an open-air setting and delve in to a variety of salads and appetizers, like Kale Salad, Pancetta, Pecorino, Lemon and County Bread or Poached Shrimp, Tomato Gelle, Cucumber and Shiso. As always, The Kahala’s menus elaborate whether a dish is free of gluten, nuts, dairy and eggs for those with diet restrictions.
Now, a buffet hardly feels complete without a carving station. On the docket is a Prime Beef Wellington, Mushroom Duxelle, Spinach and Sauce Bordelaise, as well as a Salt Baked New Zealand Rack of Lamb and Paloise.
Don’t worry — the fun doesn’t stop on NYE. Plumeria Beach House will also offer brunch (10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) and dinner (5-9 p.m.) buffets on Jan. 1.
The possibilities seem boundless and include salads, appetizers, a carving station, soup, hot selections and desserts.
