Though everyone is keeping indoors and practicing social distancing, there’s still a way to enjoy the experience of Hy’s Steak House in the comfort of your home. A mainstay in Waikiki for more than four decades, Hy’s is known just as much for its quality meats as it is for its classy ambiance and exceptional tableside service. While the latter might not be available right now, those high-caliber eats are within reach with the launch of Hy’s Prime Butcher Shop & Market, which delivers premium cuts and ingredients for the aspiring chef or those that just want a little bit of Hy’s during these trying times.
Not quite as well-versed in the kitchen? Hy’s also includes with your order safe-handling directions and any cooking/preparation instructions to execute the perfect dish.
“Hy’s Prime Butcher Shop & Market was developed as a way to serve our community during this time …,” says Jordyn Oriole, director of catering and events for G.Lion Hawaii. “We want our guests to find comfort in the fact that Hy’s Steak House will be with you — come rain or shine, hell or high water, and even COVID-19.”
Through Hy’s Prime Butcher Shop & Market, fans of fantastic cuts can order complete meals they can prepare at home. Interested in learning more? We give you a sneak peek at some of the best-sellers this week.
First up is the Prime Rib Dinner for Five ($175, plus tax), which includes 5 pounds of roasted prime rib, herb-roasted potatoes and Hy’s signature sun-dried tomato pesto and seasonal vegetable medley.
Next, the “Bundle of Joy” ($119) promises a little bit of fun and a lot of delicious liquid surprises. In this set, amateur chefs can expect six bottles of wine from a variety of regions — all hand-selected by Hy’s sommelier, so you know it’s good.

Try the Family Pack ($99), which comes with two 8-ounce filet mignons, one 12-ounce New York strip, one 16-ounce Delmonico and Hy’s proprietary seasoning salt. Or, choose the Grand Pack ($98) that includes a 28-ounce T-bone and 34-ounce porterhouse. Individual cuts are also on the menu for varying prices.
Want to indulge in some handcrafted pasta? Hy’s hooks it up with the Family Spaghetti Pasta Kit ($59) that comes with 16 ounces of homemade spaghetti, tomato sauce, toasted breadcrumbs and some of Hy’s famous meatballs. A personal-sized Carbonara Pasta Kit retails for $18 and includes 4 ounces of Hy’s housemade spaghetti, a special carbonara sauce, an onsen egg, pancetta, toasted breadcrumbs and pecorino — sign us up for this savory meal!

“We are so thankful for the support we have experienced since our ‘grand opening,'” concludes Oriole. “That is the foundation of why we are doing this, and the way we run our restaurants day in and day out: gratitude. We are grateful that we have the opportunity to serve our guests and so unbelievably thankful for their unwavering support. This is not possible without them.”
