Bentos (starting at $10.99) reign supreme each day of the week at Shokudo Japanese Restaurant & Bar during the state’s stay-at-home order, which is good news for those missing the eatery’s classic take on Japanese and local favorites.
“For the most part, all of the bentos are very popular,” says general manager Ryan Ko.
The top seller, though, seems to be the Teriyaki Chicken, but Chicken Karaage, Teriyaki Salmon, Chicken Katsu, and Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura are sure to satisfy those savory cravings, as well.
And it’s not just these boxed medleys on the takeout menu. In addition to the bountiful bentos, Shokudo is also offering neighboring KAPISPA’s limited menu, too!
That means pans upon pans of everything from family meals like Japanese carbonara ($48, half; $96, full) and Natto & Bacon ($48, half; $96, full), to single-serving pastas ($11.99) like Tarako, Pork Shabushabu & Daikon Oroshi, or Soy Sauce Pepperoncino.
KAPISPA’s famous Japanese-style fried chicken, aka Torikara ($9, five pieces; $15, nine pieces), is also up for grabs, along with your choice of dipping sauce — honey mustard, spicy chili, wasabi ranch, Hawaiian BBQ or haccho miso — all $1 each.
“Pick up is at Shokudo!” adds Ko. Call the restaurant at 941-3701 to place a takeout order, or pull up the Bite Squad app on your phone for easy at-home delivery.
