A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: LUNCH AND DINNER BUFFETS
There’s a new all-you-can-eat restaurant in town and it packs all the Asian fixings one can dream of. McCully Buffet (what was formerly Camellia Buffet) recently came under new management and held its grand opening on Dec. 18.
New owner Sam Seo is excited to serve hungry patrons McCully’s winning combination of Korean and Japanese cuisine. Its buffet features ready-to-eat selections like sushi, as well as yakiniku-style meats, veggies (including salads, zucchini and bell peppers, among others) and seafood that are ready to be fired up on the grill right at diners’ tables.
With his new restaurant, Seo also brings the promise of good food at an affordable price. He mentions the buffet sources high-quality meat and seafood. The ahi tuna is Hawaiian-caught fish and from the local auction block.
“You can enjoy self-cook yakiniku on your own table with options like kalbi, bulgogi, flap meat, pork, shrimp and more,” says Seo. “Also you have sashimi, nigiri and roll sushi, variety poke and hot food and tempura.”
Seo who is also the owner of the popular Ahi & Vegetable in Kalihi, has been in the food industry for more than 25 years and opened Ahi & Vegetable 20 years ago — if there’s anyone that knows his stuff about fresh fish, it’d definitely be him.
