A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: A LA CARTE ITEMS STARTING AT $7.95

With a menu of nearly 200 pleasingly tantalizing items, New Mui Kwai Chop Suey in Kailua has been a longtime love of Kailua residents and beyond. Its extensive menu calls to many palates, satisfying the needs of vegetarians to meat-eaters and everyone in between.

The Chinese eatery celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and owner Wesley Fang has a customer appreciation special to kick things off. For every $100 spent at New Mui Kwai Chop Suey, diners will receive a $15 gift card to use on their next visit. Additionally, for every $225 spent, diners will receive $25 toward their next purchase.

Fang also mentions the gift cards may be used at their family-owned bakery, run by his wife. The Sing Cheong Yuan Bakery, on 1027 Maunakea St. in Downtown Chinatown, serves up an array of Chinese desserts, pastries, savory buns and more.

Bring the family to enjoy a lively meal together, and with the weather chilling down Fang recommends warming up with the Won-Ton Soup ($7.95). If the gang can’t make it in to the restaurant, not to worry because New Mui offers takeout and catering. With the holidays just a couple weeks away, you’ll want to hurry up and order if you haven’t already, and a good place to start is with New Mui.
