Chef Chai, a delightfully elegant restaurant on Kapiolani Boulevard, will have some delec-table food for lucky diners to indulge in during Restaurant Week Hawaii, which spans from Nov. 15 to 24.
The week showcases the state’s culinary scene with a portion of proceeds supporting the Culinary Institute of the Pacific at Diamond Head.
During Restaurant Week Hawaii, Chef Chai, led by famed chef Chai Chaowasaree, will have a special multicourse menu for $54 per person.
For the Starter course, bite into the Chicken Tenderloin Sate with Thai Peanut Sauce, Asian Flat Bread and Cucumber Salad.
Next, step up to the Appetizer Sampler. It includes Fresh Ahi Tartar with Avocado Mousee in Mini Waffle Cones, Toasted Brioche with Foie Gras Mousse and Berries Confit, Gravlax Salmon Roulade with Cream Cheese & Crab Meat, and the delicious Smoked Duck Taco with Spicy Mango Salsa.
Diners also have a choice of Entree. One selection is the Deconstructed Beef Tenderloin Wellington with Mashed Potato, Haricot Vert, Baby Carrot and Merlot Demi. Another meaty main dish choice is the Mongolian Style Lamb Chops with Brandy Demi. Mashed Potatoes and Stir-Fried Sugar Snap Peas accompany the chops.
Other entree menu options include the Grilled Kobayaki New Zealand King Salmon with Spicy Pineapple Relish.
It is served with Sauteed Vegetables and Steamed White Rice. Meanwhile, Chef Chai also offers the Vegetable Terrine with Green Curry Sauce and Naan Bread as an entree.
Topping everything off on a sweet note, the Restaurant Week Hawaii Choice of Dessert course includes Waialua Chocolate Lava Cake with Fresh Raspberry, Frankie Nursery’s Honey Cream Pineapple, or Coconut Cheesecake with Tahitian Vanilla Creme Anglaise.
