A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS WEEK’S HOUSE SPECIAL: DAILY SPECIAL BENTO WITH RIB-EYE STEAK
Yajima-ya Japanese and Local Cuisine churns out beloved traditional eats, all of which appeal to diners of any age.
The eatery is well-known for its teishoku sets that bestow customers with a plethora of mouthwatering choices from the land and sea, including sashimi and sushi.
The unique teishoku selection is different from the usual teishoku offerings one would find at other Japanese restaurants. Yajima-ya presents Selection A and B for its sets that can be ordered through Teishoku Ichi (two choices from Selection A), Teishoku Ni (one choice from Selection A and another from Selection B) and Teishoku San (two choices from Selection B).
The options are endless from Selection A and B, as they include Mushroom Chicken, Hamburger Steak, Tempura, Salmon, Assorted Sashimi, various Rib-Eye Steak selections, miso butterfish, Garlic Ahi, Pork Katsuni and much more. It doesn’t end there as each teishoku comes with rice, miso soup and three kobachi (side dishes).
The menu continues with sushi and sushi combos from nigiri and rolls to chirashi bowls. Rounding out the possibilities are Udon, Soba and Donburi bowls, side dishes, soothing curries and Daily Special Bento. During dinner, bentos are served with miso soup and green salad.
With a subtle and comfy interior, Yajima-ya offers many a retreat that both refreshes and refuels. Having opened as a quaint lunch wagon a decade ago, the restaurant has come a long way and will continue to grow into a community staple within the Honolulu area.
