Since 2001, Golden Palace Seafood Restaurant has been a gathering place for kamaaina and visitors who are craving authentic flavors of China.
Covering a wide variety of delectable dishes that come from Hong Kong and vast regions of China, Golden Palace is a must-visit dining destination that truly will satisfy.
In addition to all the great food that is offered by Golden Palace, many people will be pleased to find that the prices for meals are very affordable.
“We want it to be like it’s a no-brainer,” explains Gary Lam, general manager. “It’s good food, good quality, good price — you don’t even have to think about it.”
Lam points out, Golden Palace is located right in the heart of Chinatown and easily is found due to its iconic landmark. “At our front doors, you have those pillars, which everyone knows,” says Lam. “We have a lot of return customers. I have guys who come on a daily basis for lunch.”
OFF THE MENU GEMS
While Golden Palace Seafood Restaurant’s menu is filled with mouthwatering dishes, Lam suggests two items that are available daily, but must be special ordered.
Salt and Pepper Sea Bass ($8.95) is made with chunks of sea bass that is marinated overnight, before being rubbed with a special blend of spices. The pieces are then battered and deep-fried to a crisp, while leaving the fish tender and moist.
Golden Curry Squid ($8.95) is a new dish offered at Golden Palace and, like everything else at the restaurant, is sure to be a winner. Hearty pieces of squid are marinated and then cooked in Chinese curry. The dish is finished off with round onions and bell peppers.
