L&L Hawaiian Barbecue presents its 13th annual Plate Lunch sale June 19 from 10 a.m. to noon at its Keeaumoku Street location, nestled in Walmart Honolulu.
In past years, customers would start lining up hours before the start time of the event, which usually features 76-cent plate lunches to commemorate the year 1976, when Eddie Flores and Johnson Kam purchased L&L.
This year, the iconic eatery plans to lower the price to 52 cents, in honor of the year 1952, when the company was originally established as L&L Dairy i n Wa i m a n a l o, formed by Robert and Ida Lee. Additionally, all proceeds will be donated to the ongoing volcano relief efforts on the Big Island.
Known for its tasty local favorite plate lunches, L&L has grown to 63 locations throughout the state, as well as 125 outside of Hawaii.
