Being situated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, residents in Hawaii are more than used to commercials of their favorite mainland franchises advertising a delicious deal only to be sideswiped by the fine print at the end, which excludes Hawaii.
The “promotion not available in Alaska and Hawaii” disclaimer resounds by the announcer as upbeat music fills the background and happy faces bite into the dishes that Hawaii residents end up paying more for.
Thankfully for islanders, Applebee’s Grill & Bar has stepped in and put a stop to this pattern. The popular eatery is spanning its $12.99 All You Can Eat (AYCE) Riblets and Chicken Tenders promotion all the way across the Pacific to include Hawaii.
General manager Gladys Duenez of Applebee’s Pearlridge location explains that this is the first time the Hawaii franchise is able to mimic the prices found on the mainland. Residents can stop into any Applebee’s location on the island and enjoy this promotion until mid-February.
“Our pork is tender and falls off the bone,” says Duenez, when describing the AYCE Riblets. “It’s more meaty, is slow-cooked and comes dripping with your choice of honey barbecue or Texas barbecue sauce.”
Duenez also explains that the meal comes with a side of coleslaw and bottomless fries, and diners may mix- and-match between unlimited riblets and chicken tenders — so it’s not just one or the other.
The bar also is offering promotional refreshments available until mid-February. Sip on Carolina Peach Long Island Iced Tea ($9.99 regular, $12.99 mucho), as well as $2 Blue Moon, while “grinding” on the AYCE promotion or the establishment’s popular The Classic Combo ($16.50) appetizer.
What’s more, Apple-bee’s is calling all of its baconand burger-lovers to try the Triple Bacon ($14.49) burger. Strips of bacon are seared in a juicy all-beef patty and topped with cheddar cheese, tangy barbecue bacon ranch sauce, and even more crispy bacon slices. All this overflowing goodness is packed between two soft brioche buns.
