Keeping up with the latest trends while also holding onto traditions is a hard task to tackle, but not for Hy’s Steak House in Waikiki.
A longstanding eatery, Hy’s has stood the test of time since 1977, perfecting its mix of timeless dishes along with innovative takes on old favorites.
Head into the new year with only the best that the eatery has to offer, starting with Hy’s Seafood Platter ($50) — an array of colossal shrimp, scallops, oysters on the half shell, sashimi and more, sitting on a bed of crushed ice.
Follow through with some of the most popular entrees available, such as Chateaubriand ($110 for two people) — done table-side — 16 ounces of center cut Prime filet mignon served with fresh vegetables and bearnaise sauce. Or there’s “Hy’s Famous” Roasted Rack of Lamb ($50 for a half rack, $80 for a full rack), which features a Kiawe-grilled rack of lamb served with mint jelly.
And don’t forget to keep on celebrating special occasions with Hy’s, whether it’s in-house or off-site, with the restaurant’s stellar catering, which is custom-made for your event.
What’s more, guests should be on the lookout in 2018 for seasonal and holiday buffets, according to general manager Marc Nezu.
Find a carving station with Hy’s signature rack of lamb and prime rib, an array of entrees and sides, as well as dessert platters (also available for catering) — to name a few. To find out what else will be on the menu and for pricing information, visit Hy’s website.
Nezu shares that during the holiday season, Hy’s is lucky to have a full house of local customers dining in (almost 90 percent!). He also expresses his gratitude to all for celebrating their special moments with Hy’s, and for helping to usher the establishment into its 40th year in 2017.
