Sushi Bowl ($25)

Uncle’s Fish Market & Grill is home to a fish house ambiance that pays homage to the hard-working watermen that reel in everyone’s beloved seafood.

A featured photo on the restaurant’s wall shows nearly a dozen men trolling off a boat’s stern while pounding waves attempt to hinder them. It sparks a humbling sense of appreciation that enhances the taste of Uncle’s dishes. At this eatery, “fresh catch” may be a bit of an understatement.

Fresh Ono ($24)

Director of restaurant operations Brian McKelvey says that Uncle’s products are brought in fresh-off-the-boat every morning. “The Honolulu Auction Block is two warehouses down so we actually source fish through there,” explains McKelvey. “And actually if you walk right out our kitchen door, our warehouse is right there, which is also our processing plant and our facility.”

Uncle’s Sushi Bowl ($25) is a refined dish with delicate slices of salmon, hamachi, and ahi sashimi. The fish is so soft and full of flavor that you’ll actually be able to wait till the next bite because you’ll be too busy enjoying every bit of the first one. Also with the bowl is a generous serving of spicy tuna poke, and strips of fried calamari that help offset the raw fish servings.

Crab & Avocado Salad ($17)

For those in search for a delectable meal, the Fresh Ono ($24) that is sauteed in a sherry wine mushroom sauce certainly is a delicious current you’d want to flow with. Crab & Avocado Salad ($17) is another refreshing creation served with a hefty scoop of snow crab tossed in aioli sauce.

Uncle’s Fish Market & Grill just made an exciting announcement that another location will be added at Pearlridge Center come December 2018. This is great news for diners who can now look forward to more fresh options upon the horizon.
