The majestic waterfront views of Pier 38 present breathtaking scenery, especially as the sun sets beyond the sparkling Pacific horizon, creating reflections of pink, purple and orange hues. Perched just above the harbor — and serving as a prime dining spot — is Harbor Restaurant at Pier 38, whose fresh fare is just as impressive as the view.
Having just celebrated its one-year anniversary in May, Harbor Restaurant has quickly risen in popularity during that short time and bestows diners with creative ways of enjoying some of their favorite foods.
Prime Rib Bites ($14 regular, $12 happy hour), for example, gives guests the convenience of popping delicate cubes of slow roasted prime rib into their mouths without sacrificing any oozing, juicy greatness. Sauteed mushrooms and demi glace add to the flavors of this irresistible dish.
CRAZY FOR RISOTTO
For most folks in Hawaii, a side of rice goes without saying. At Harbor Restaurant, add some spice to that rice — and make it the main dish — with soft and creamy Risotto with Gorgonzola and Fried Sage Leaves ($28). The special is served today through next Sunday. Executive chef Rob McDaniel says that the risotto changes weekly so diners can plan on “getting their risotto on” with a different twist every week (risotto prices vary).
