To say that the new L&L Hawaiian Barbecue location in Downtown Honolulu’s First Hawaiian Center is unique is an understatement — which of its other locales has a cascading waterfall at the entrance?
Opened in the beginning of March, the newest L&L on the island sports more than just elaborate dAi??cor, however. (Look for the red umbrellas on the first floor of the building, at the corner of S. King and Alakea streets.) The local eatery also offers Illy-brand coffee, espresso drinks and more.
Here, customers can order their L&L favorites, such as Barbecue Chicken, Chicken Katsu and Garlic Shrimp plates, and select from a list of specialty beverages, which include Hong Kong-Style Milk Tea and various iced teas.
The Downtown branch’s owner, Tony Shi, and wife Niki Luo help to create the inviting atmosphere at the new establishment, which provides excellent, friendly service for the business men and women that come in daily during lunchtime.
The eatery also is great for locals, tourists and customers looking for delicious and affordable catering. Perfect for any occasion, consider some of L&L’s best-sellers from the catering menu: Pupu Sampler, Chicken Sampler and Musubi Sampler.
PUPUS FOR ALL
The new L&L Hawaiian Barbecue at First Hawaiian Center not only serves breakfast, lunch and early dinner, but it also caters business meetings, parties and big events. For your next event, try Pupu Sampler ($46.95; prices vary by location), which includes all the local must-haves: Fried Shrimp, Barbecue Chicken, Chicken Katsu, Spam Musubi and Portuguese Sausage. The platter feeds around six to 10 and offers familiar flavors patrons have come to cherish.
