This traditional Japanese restaurant is known for its sushi and teppanyaki. The teppanyaki menu features multiple courses that include appetizers and side dishes, ensuring a well-rounded lunch or dinner for Mom. A fresh and fun restaurant in the center of Waikiki, The Seaside is known for its shucked oysters and flatbread pizza. But for Mother’s Day, try the Seaside Cioppino ($59). It’s a seafood stew made with fresh mahi mahi, clams, mussels, Kauai shrimp and crab in a tomato-based broth. It’s cooked to order each time and feeds three to four people — perfect for sharing.

This sleek eatery in the heart of Honolulu’s Ward neighborhood has a Spring Omakase Course ($100 per person) that is perfect for a Mother’s Day dinner. It features several starters and a grilled burikama with Japanese pepper sauce. It also comes with dessert — seasonal potato manju and fruits anmitsu. Be sure to make a reservation at least one day in advance and let the staff know if you have any allergies.

This trendy eatery at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is a place to find vibrant Japanese- Pacific Rim cuisine with a fresh and creative menu. For Mother’s Day, try the Poached Lobster Pasta ($42) — butter-poached whole lobster tail with fresh pappardelle pasta, fermented chili butter sauce, melted leeks and crispy Hamakua mushrooms.
