“H apchang” is the Korean gesture of placing one’s hands palm to palm in front of the chest to show respect, gratitude and humility. At 6 p.m. Oct. 4, Stage Restaurant will blend art, dance, culture and fine dining with a unique
Hapchang Immersive Art Experience. Guests will enjoy a four-course Korean- and art-inspired dinner ($90, including tax and
gratuity) while renowned Korean American artists Lauren Hana Chai, Miryo and Sean-Joseph Choo will put on an riveting performance.
Chai’s ceramic art, known for contrasting her traditional Korean upbringing with her mod- ern American life, will be on display during the dinner, alongside Miryo’s ceramic pieces. Miryo is based in Honolulu, and his work is known “to evoke settings inspired by Korean landscape and stone architecture through the senses of sight, sound and touch,” according
  A la Carte
In addition to the food, art will also be part of the Hapchang Immersive Art Experience.

Choo will help Chai and
Miryo’s ceramic art come to life. Choo is an actor, compos- er and writer based in Ho- nolulu whose work imagines how religion, queerness, and culture intersect and conflict. His performance will illumi- nate Chai and Miryo’s pieces, as the experience will “ex- plore the habitual fibers that make up our lives,” according to the event site.
Dishes will align to the art and performance and will be prepared by Stage’s talented chefs. Attendees will enjoy a full sensory evening — from viewing the art to hearing the performance to tasting and smelling Stage’s delectable dishes.
