Here, FCH Enterprises Inc. (Zippy’s parent company) creative specialist Jay Crisologo and marketing manager Jeanine Mamiya-Kalahiki share more about Zippy’s holiday offerings.
DO: What is the Zippy’s Christmas Luau package?
JC: The Christmas Luau package is a refrigerated, ready-toreheat package that serves six to eight people. It’s a convenient way to celebrate the Christmas holiday with a Hawaiian-style meal. The regular price is $179.95, but if you preorder online by 10 p.m. Dec. 13, you can save $20 on the package and pay only $159.95 after the online savings.
The Christmas Luau package includes 2 pounds of kalua pig, eight pieces of laulau, 3.5 pounds of chicken long rice, 2 pounds of lomi lomi salmon and eight pieces of haupia.
DO: What other items would you recommend that complement the Christmas Luau package?
JC: Zippy’s is also offering Christmas Turkey packages, available in whole ($194.95 online; $224.95 regular) or half turkey package ($109.95 online; $129.95 regular) as well as a whole turkey only package ($92.95 online; $104.95 regular).
Order a turkey package along with your Christmas Luau package for a feast.
You can also add on rolls of uncut maki sushi ($7.25 each) to your Christmas Luau package.
DO: Does Zippy’s have any returning or new seasonal items?
JC: Zippy’s monthly featured item is one of our classic plates available through Dec. 30. It is our Mixed Plate ($15.50 takeout; $17.85 dine in), which includes chicken katsu, teriyaki beef, and a takeout choice of chili, rice and macaroni salad or restaurant choice of corn.
There are also a couple of Christmas specials being offered from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Dec. 24-25 while supplies last. The Roast Turkey Plate ($16.95 takeout; $19.50 dine in) includes roast turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, poultry gravy, rice and corn.
Additionally, the Roast Turkey and Baked Ham Combo ($16.75 takeout; $19.25 dine in) features roast turkey, baked ham with rum raisin sauce, stuffing, cranberry sauce, poultry gravy, rice and corn.
DO: How can people best enjoy the holidays with Zippy’s?
JC: Most people can order their favorites to add on to their holiday meal, like Zippy’s party platters or barrels of chicken and chili.
This also includes featured desserts from the bakery. On Christmas Eve and Day, the 8-inch Dream Cake ($24.95), the 8-inch Christmas-decorated Dobash Cake ($25.50) and assorted Christmas donuts ($2.65 each) will be available while supplies last.
DO: Do you have any holiday memories tied with eating Zippy’s food?
JM: I would say adding a Korean Chicken Platter ($49.25) to the traditional Christmas/ holiday spread catches my family off-guard, however it’s always the one to run out first. I may have to start bringing two Korean Chicken Platters.
