Monchong ($32)
Ring in 2022 with Mahina & Sun’s at Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club on New Year’s Eve. The celebration kicks off with dinner at 5:30 p.m. and live entertainment by Dustin Park from 6 to 9 p.m.
Dinner seating is extended until 10 p.m., and the happy hour menu will be available throughout the night with last call for food and drinks at 11:45 p.m. and 12:40 a.m., respectively.
Opah ($32)
Guests can enjoy dishes such as Seared Ahi ($30), which consists of kalo, uala, pohole, onions, chile and ginger green onion pesto, as well as Opah ($32), which features ulu tamale, shishito romesco, cabbage slaw and roasted tomato. Also available is Monchong ($32) and champagne cocktails ranging from $12 to $16. “Although we have a diversified menu, for New Year’s Eve, we are focusing on our fish presentation,” says general manager Lynette Eastman. “Patrons that love fish can come to our restaurant knowing we have the freshest and tastiest fish.”
The night then transitions into “Studio 54 & More” with hits from the ’80s with DJs James Coles and Bart DaSilva from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Attendees can enjoy champagne, party favors and a video booth.
“The combination of an elevated home-cooking dining experience coupled with a fun and exciting dance party that will remind you of a 1980s supper club is one of a kind,” Eastman notes.
Cost is $54 and welcomes guests 21 years and older. The night comes to a close at 1 a.m.
