Ulu Mana features an array of items for customers to explore and enjoy, from products made in-house, like Hawaiian Hummus, Ulu Chips and Cassava Chips, to more than 200 products from 30-plus local vendors from across the islands.
Located in the heart of Honolulu’s industrial corridor off Nimitz Highway, Ulu Mana is an ideal gathering place for friends and families looking for fresh chips, gifts and even acai bowls.
This month, the Ulu Mana team encourages guests to try its Hawaiian Hummus made from locally grown ulu (breadfruit), rather than garbanzo beans. The hummus is legume, bean and gluten free, meets paleo diet guidelines and is vegan friendly. It also serves as a healthy back-to-school snack for keiki.
All hummus varieties (prices vary by type and quantity) are made at Ulu Chip Factory with natural ingredients and no added colorings. They are great for dipping with chips and veggie sticks, and as a spread on sandwiches and wraps in lieu of mayo.
Totally Turmeric is the shop’s top seller, while Hop-pin’ Jalapeño boasts plenty of spice and lots of flavor. Both feature a hearty portion of turmeric, which contains curcumin — an antioxidant known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
Bangin’ Beet combines local ulu with organic beets. It’s on the sweet side and is perfect for wraps or even as a salad topping. Fun-dried Tomato has rich flavor with a spice blend that includes a hint of citrus from coriander and the sweet pepper flavor of Spanish paprika.
