Big City Diner is ready to help guests start their day on the right foot with a hearty breakfast fresh off the griddle.
“We wanted to create a restaurant that was inviting to anyone and everyone to come as they are — young or old, local or tourist, hungry and/ or just thirsty,” says restaurant owner and president Lane Muraoka.
Big City Diner’s morning entrees, now served beginning at 8 a.m. daily, feature a wide variety of options, including Roasted Macadamia Nut Pancakes with Haupia Creme Sauce ($17.99 for three pieces, $13.99 for two pieces) and the Ultimate Tofu-Veggie Omelet ($19.99), made with egg whites, mushrooms, local tomatoes, sweet onions, spinach and broccoli. Additionally, guests don’t only need to visit the restaurant in the morning to enjoy breakfast, as the eatery serves a limited breakfast menu throughout the day.
Corporate executive chef Dennis Franks notes his favorite part of working at Big City Diner is knowing that “guests enjoyed the food and service they received.”
For those looking for a savory option, customers can treat themselves to the restaurant’s weekly special, Grilled Asian Fish ($25), served with a fresh garden salad and beverage.
Big City Diner’s weekly specials rotate every four weeks and feature a choice of freshly brewed iced tea or Coke fountain drink, as well as a salad or homemade soup of the day.
Muraoka hopes that when guests visit Big City Diner, “they feel welcomed and are offered a wide variety of local American homemade and freshly prepared comfort foods to please any palate that is always served with a smile and lots of aloha.”
Big City Diner also shares the aloha spirit through its catering services for birthdays, team meetings and other events. Interested customers may contact the restaurant’s catering director, Jody, at 808-657-7711.
