In the heart of Honolulu at Market City Shopping Center, Kamitoku Japanese Hot Pot serves comforting, flavorful Japanese cuisine that is economically priced and perfect for the entire family.
“With a theme inspired by Japanese home cooking, we serve piping hot pot dishes for dining in and freshly made, affordable Japanese bentos for takeout,” says general manager and co-owner Yu Conceicao.
A go-to dish for groups is Gyu Shogun ($85). This mega-sized sharing set features washugyu beef, vegetables and other traditional hot pot ingredients — along with the eatery’s signature, steeped-for-days beef bone broth.
The hot pot ingredients are arranged into a photogenic tower, and an iced matcha drink and sorbet from Henry’s Place sweeten the deal.
Another unique, mouthwatering menu item is the Beef Rib-eye Katsu Teishoku ($15). Similar to tonkatsu, a crispy coating surrounds hearty, juicy, locally butchered beef. A rich beef bone soup, premium Japanese rice and fresh side dishes complete the meal — guaranteeing an indulgent and appetite-appeasing experience.
In addition to an array of items to please every palate for lunch or dinner, Kamitoku Japanese Hot Pot also offers beautiful, bountiful bentos (starting at $6 each) for takeout. The eatery fills the bento boxes with fresh vegetables and satiating selections of sides and proteins.
“ We offer reason-ably-priced bentos,” Conceicao explains. “For catering or large orders, we can adjust both the price and contents to suit your preferences.
“I love to serve our food to families,” Conceicao concludes. “It makes me feel like I am serving my homemade food to my own family.”
