Guests who enjoy hot and spicy cuisine should visit Khan Skewer for a true Mongolian experience. Established in 2021, Khan Skewer showcases barbecue beef, lamb, chicken, and other fiery treats and is a “flavor of a Mongolian legacy,” according to its website.
A few of Khan Skewer’s sizzling dishes include the chef’s specials: Crawfish with ramen ($28.99), that features Chinese traditional 13 spices, and Griddle-Fried Spicy Shrimp ($28.99). The restaurant also offers Deep-fried Baby Tako ($10.99) and Deep-fried Calamari ($10.99). Vegetable dishes are also available, such as King Oyster Mushroom ($11.99), Eggplant ($9.99) and Dried Tofu Curd with cilantro ($7.99).
“We want to incorporate more local, fresh Hawaiian ingredients,” says co-founder Fiona Yang. “We would like to open more Asian-fusion Mongolia restaurants to show the customers the traditional food mix with modern cuisine.”
Yang says the Khan Skewer theme is Asian fusion with a focus on the traditional color red.
“Due to the Mongolian people’s worship complex for fire, red has become a symbol of burning fire. Red indicates warmth and kindness. For generations of Mongolians living on the grassland, fire is a very important part of daily life,” Yang says.
Red is also reflected in the restaurant’s cooking style and atmosphere.
Guests can experience this warmth through the restaurant’s offerings, including its Mother’s Day Special, during which dine-in guests receive a free cupcake.
