La Mer restaurant promises its guests elegance and beautiful ocean views when they dine at the five-star eatery in Halekulani Hotel.
“What makes La Mer unique is the combination of its parts: the service, the food, the wine and the ambiance that all go hand in hand,” says Executive Chef – La Mer, Alexandre Trancher.
As Oahu’s longest-running AAA five-diamond and Forbes five-star restaurant, La Mer features the Menu du Soir ($255 per person). As guests enjoy the atmosphere, they will be treated to amuse bouche — Kampachi Tartare, Crispy Tuile, Sea Urchin Roe, and Coconut Milk Sauce and Basil Oil. The menu also features Steamed Swordfish and Stewed Leeks with Saffron Cream Sauce, and Roast Duck Filet, Glazed Turnip, Black Garlic and Cassis Red Sauce.
For dessert, guests may choose the Cacao Pod, Guanaja Mousse, Kona Coffee Caramel and Kahlua Jelly, opt for a selection of mignardise or pick something from the cheese cart.
The restaurant also offers a wine pairing for $135 per person.
“I would honestly say that the best way to experience La Mer is to allow our team to take care of you,” Trancher says. “Combining this service with the way we present our dishes using a seasonal alliance of flavors, our award-winning wine selections, and the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and Diamond Head, it is the complete dining experience.”
Before moving to Oahu and joining La Mer in 2012, Trancher honed his culinary skills at La Tour d’Argent in France and Tokyo, Japan. Since joining La Mer, he has elevated the restaurant to its five-star and diamond ratings.
