Every morning, the enticing aroma of fresh bread and coffee wafts from Halekulani Bakery, drifts down a Waikiki side street and lures in confectionery connoisseurs.

Located across the street from Halekulani Hotel at sister hotel Halepuna Waikiki, Halekulani Bakery is the first Halekulani-branded food-and-beverage venue, and its talented staff also crafts all the desserts for the Halekulani outlets and banquet functions.

“Halekulani Bakery uses the freshest ingredients and features exciting new items introduced daily, great coffee (and) unique Christmas gifts,” says pastry chef Michelle Baldomero.

Special for the season, the bakery is offering holiday pies ($35). Nine-inch pumpkin, custard, macadamia nut or apple tarte Tatin pies will surely delight as a festive dessert or a delectable gift.

Holiday pie orders need to be placed by 5 p.m. Dec. 15 and are limited to three pies per order.

Pies will be available for pickup Dec. 21-25 and can be frozen to eat later.

Halekulani Bakery features outdoor seating.

Halekulani Bakery’s expansive display case also features a range of croissants, including popular flavors like chocolate, raspberry and pistachio.

Another pastry that pairs perfectly with the bakery’s flavorsome coffee is kouignamann. The petite, round, multilayered cake is offered in the newly concocted flavors of mango, Kona chocolate and cinnamon sugar.

“We are keeping very busy at Halekulani Bakery to provide our scrumptious pastries, breads, quiches, holiday pies, as well as other gift ideas like confections (and) cookies,” says Baldomero.
