Super Japanese Plate Deluxe ($13.50)

For more than 60 years, St. Louis Drive In has been a go-to spot for favorite local grinds. Located in the heart of Kaimuki, the iconic eatery’s plate lunches, sandwiches, burgers, bentos, seafood and more tantalize the taste buds of both longtime residents and visitors alike.

An elevated plate lunch experience can be enjoyed by trying the Super Japanese Plate Deluxe ($13.50). Specially priced for Dining Out readers through Oct. 14, the heaping plate features an array of St. Louis Drive In’s signature dishes: mochiko chicken, teri beef, scallops (two pieces), ahi sashimi, shrimp tempura (two pieces), rice and tossed salad.

Generations of families have frequented the Waialae Avenue restaurant, with some stopping by after crossing the street from school at Saint Louis School or Chaminade University.

And, while the same tried-and-true favorites remain menu staples, the family-owned eatery continues to serve up satiating new specials — all while retaining reasonable prices and an old-school vibe.
