Guava flavors reign supreme

Summer is in full swing, and Big City Diner is helping people enjoy the season with its Guava-flavored Baby Back Ribs, which come as plates, combos and platters.

“Guests will enjoy local comfort food served with aloha while catching the game of the day with a cold draft of Modelo beer in a clean and relaxed atmosphere,” says Big City Diner president and owner Lane Muraoka.

Beginning at 4 p.m., customers are welcome to peruse the restaurant’s dinner menu, which includes its famous local creations such as the aforementioned fall-off-the-bone ribs. Served with the restaurant’s Guava BBQ Sauce, this entrée is doled out with a choice of white or brown rice, or a substitute of garlic mashed potatoes for an additional $3.49. A cup of soup or a small green salad can also be added for $4.99. This entrée is available in two portion sizes: “the not-so-big slab” for $27.99 or “the big slab” for $32.99.

As the saying goes, two is better than one, so if guests are looking for a little extra something to go along with their ribs, they can consider the New York Steak and Ribs combo. Available for $39.99, the combo can be paired with the sides and additions mentioned above.

“Tourists dine where the locals do!” says Muraoka, who hopes customers will experience “fresh, healthy, local homemade cuisine prepared daily and served at a reasonable price.”

For those hoping to take Big City Diner’s dinner experience home with them, the restaurant sells its famous 12-ounce bottles of Guava BBQ Sauce for $7 each, or four bottles for $20.
