Island Sausage is holding a hero’s feast for 2023’s high school graduates in the form of the Graduation Catering Package.
For $300, Hawaii schools’ most recent alumni will be treated to orders of pupu-style sausages, teriyaki beef, Korean fried chicken wings, fried noodles, white rice and tossed salad.
“We have a very unique set of sausage flavors, not seen anywhere else on the island,” says owner Terrence Enomoto.
“The flavors are created from local flavors/dishes that guests will find very nostalgic.”
The sausage flavors include chorizo, ginger, char sui and kielbasa, while the chicken wings feature garlic soy sauce, gochujang, green onions and sesame seeds. The tossed salad also showcases a spring mix with pickled red onion, cucumbers tomatoes, and house oriental dressing.
In addition to the graduation package, guests can also experience the restaurant’s bentos, house sausages, burgers, sandwiches and French fries in-house and pick up frozen sausages and salami to go.
“My hope is to have people walk away believing that sausages can be a quality product and made with quality ingredients, losing the stigma that a sausage or hot dog has to be $1.50,” says Enomoto.
Located along Ala Moana Boulevard, Island Sausage is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.
