With a spectacular lookout of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach and a setting to watch a colorful sunrise or sunset, Hula Grill Waikiki combines the concept of Hawaii regional cuisine with stunning ocean views. When entering the dining room, guests are welcomed into a 1930s Hawaiian beach home where Hawaii’s plantation era is displayed through original paintings from local artists and vintage hula items and décor.
The menu features fresh fish and locally sourced ingredients, utilizing Hawaii’s freshest ingredients of all varieties to incorporate into the dishes.
Hula Grill offers a wide selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For breakfast, try the Strawberry Mochi Waffle ($19) for a sweet treat that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The waffle consists of Maui-grown strawberries, whipped mascarpone and Manoa honey. For a sweet and savory option, a popular dish is the Crab Topped Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi ($49), which uses Maui gold pineapple beurre blanc and comes with hapa rice.
Assistant general manager LisaTangalin’s favorite dish is another seafood option: the Panko and Sesame Crusted Ahi ($43). This flavorful, refreshing dish comes with pickled cabbage slaw, wasabi aioli and bamboo rice. Guests can also enjoy the Guava BBQ Chicken ($29), which is half of an oven-baked Wayne Farms all-natural chicken drizzled with Hula Grill’s local twist on barbecue sauce. It also comes with crisp vegetable slaw and bamboo rice.
Coming up, visit the restaurant for its Father’s Day celebration on June 18. Come for breakfast or brunch for Pork Belly n’ Eggs or Prime Rib. For dinner, try the 18-ounce Porterhouse or for a seafood option, try the Shoyu Garlic Grilled Ono.
