Known for its delicious spices and beautiful coloring, curry is a culinary favorite around the world. Now, Plumeria Beach House at The Kahala Hotel & Resort is paying homage to this Indian dish with its Hurry Curry Buffet.
“The best thing about this buffet is diners can customize their curry with different proteins and vegetables, curry sauce — we have four sauces … red curry, green curry, rogan josh and tikka masala — and lots of different condiments,” says sous chef Kyle Lee.
The protein options are roasted pork, grilled beef sirloin, grilled shrimp and tofu. Vegetable choices include bok choy, cauliflower, carrots, celery, green onions, cilantro, crispy shallots and more.
The curry buffet also features salads (Chinese chicken salad, spicy Indian cucumber salad, mixed greens and green papaya salad) and desserts (house-made brownies, chocolate mousse cake, butter mochi and The Kahala’s signature bread pudding with crème anglaise).
The Hurry Curry Buffet is open from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sundays. The cost is $75 per person for adults and $40 per person for keiki ages 6 to 12.
Guests are welcome to dine inside or on the restaurant’s outdoor terraces next to the beach.
Lee says the “oceanfront atmosphere, exceptional food and drinks, and legendary service” are what guests love most about Plumeria Beach House.
