National Croissant Day is Jan. 30 and to celebrate this delicious time, Halekulani Bakery in Waikiki invites you to enjoy freshly baked golden pastries in a multitude of flavors. These delicacies include the Salted Caramel Croissant, Big Island Macadamia Nut Chocolate Croissant, Everything Croissant, Pabana Croissant, European Butter Croissant, Valrhona Chocolate Croissant and Pistachio Raspberry Croissant — prices range from $5 to $6.50.
“The croissant is one of the most-recognized pastries with its unique crescent shape, flaky texture and buttery flavor,” says executive pastry chef Pauline Lam. “As we feature many different variations of the croissant, it is only fitting that we celebrate this day.”
National Croissant Day is often associated with Marie Antoinette. Its multiple variations are Halekulani’s most-popular baked good, with limited amounts created daily.
“We want our customers to enjoy the various freshly baked items that we have to offer in a relaxed setting (in the bakery we have our earpod wood communal table, and separate tables outside) as well as grab-and-go options,” Lam adds.
Halekulani Bakery is open 6:30-11:30 a.m. Thursdays-Sundays. Although the eatery will be closed on Jan. 30, guests are welcome to visit the bakery on Sunday, Jan. 29, in honor of National Croissant Day.
