As local families make plans for the busy holiday season, Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach is offering a unique brunch experience for the entire ohana to help usher in Christmas.
“Merry & Bright, A Festive Brunch with Santa” will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, in the Alohilani Ballroom on the resort’s sixth floor. In addition to enjoying live entertainment by Ben Kama, attendees can meet and take pictures with Santa, participate in face painting and other keiki-friendly activities, including gingerbread house and sugar cookie decorating, and enjoy Christmas movies.
The festive meal begins with Santa’s Soup Du Jour, a thai kabocha squash soup that boasts rich flavors of coconut milk, red curry, ginger and cilantro. Fresh salad selections are included in Rudolph’s Local Greens Market Selections from Kauai. Mixed greens and romaine are accompanied by an array of toppings, including dried cranberries, bacon bites, fried onions, chickpeas, edamame, mixed peppers, assorted cheeses and various dressings such as balsamic, lilikoi and papaya.
With Dasher’s Picks from the Sea, guests may indulge in spicy ahi poke accented with scallions, ogo, sesame seeds and Sriracha aioli, and served with steamed rice.
Mrs. Claus’ Local Breakfast Fare Favorites are hearty and tasty, including Portuguese sausage, scrambled eggs, applewood-smoked bacon, mochi pancakes, corned beef hash and vegan fried rice. Save room for Santa’s Jolly Lunch Fare Favorites, such as chicken, biscuits and gravy, beef kalbi, shrimp and grits, kalua pig and roasted vegetables, chicken nuggets, and steak fries.
For dessert, delve into Prancer’s Festive Assortment of Sweets and Treats, featuring an array of tartlets, profiterole, cupcakes, Danishes and muffins, along with milk and cookies for the keiki.
Adults are also treated to Merry Mimosas (one per person), the perfect brunch beverage to relax with amid the bustling holiday season.
