d.k Steakhouse is known for its stellar USDA Prime steak selections that are aged for 30 days and offer a delicious, natural flavor as the beef is grown with no growth hormones, steroids or antibiotics. In addition, the restaurant also serves up an array of salads, starters, seafood and dessert selections that “wow” guests with each plate.
“Guests can have the best of three worlds by jumping in with some appetizers before enjoying a steak, which is char-broiled in an 1,800-degree broiler to lock in that awesome flavor,” says chef/ owner Dave “D.K.” Kodama of the dining experience. “I tell my staff that if we take the time to care about making quality food and do that consistently, then I’m happy.”
d.k Steakhouse is open nightly from 5:30 from 9:30 p.m. within the Waikiki Beach Marriott. General manager Mark Okamoto explains that “we are a traditional steakhouse with a semi-formal atmosphere and strive to help guests feel like they are part of our restaurant family.”
For starters, try the Wedge Salad ($11) prepared with chilled iceberg lettuce, egg crumbles, bacon, diced tomatoes and Thousand Island dressing. Crispy Brussels Sprouts ($12) is a go-to pupu choice as the hearty morsels are cooked to perfection and served with pickled jalapeno, konbu aioli and toasted pistachios.
Seafood enthusiasts rave about the Fresh Catch of the Day (market price) as guests may choose “Chinese-Style” preparation with fish sautéed with shiitake mushrooms and sweet Maui onions in peanut oil with a shoyu-nori vinaigrette; or “Macadamia Nut Crusted” with fish pan sautéed with local vegetables and a Thai chile butter sauce.
