Café composes tasty, new courses

“Da Geevum” ($18)

Enjoy the serene and breathtaking views of the Waimanalo mountain range in Kalapawai Café & Deli’s open-air dining room located on Kalanianaole Highway.

“The restaurant sits only one block away from Waimanalo Beach and offers gourmet comfort food with casual fine dining service,” says operations manager Kat Moon.

Marinated Island Tomato & Chevre Bruschetta ($11)

The eatery is introducing a number of new items to its dinner menu beginning March 14. The most popular bruschetta, and a house and guest favorite, is the Marinated Island Tomato & Chevre Bruschetta ($11). Another perfect shareable appetizer for the whole table to enjoy is the Crab & Artichoke Dip ($16). It boasts blue crab, chopped artichoke hearts, mozzarella, provolone, Parmesan, red bell pepper and sweet onion, and is served with crostini.

Moon describes the restaurant’s Da Geevum ($18) as “incredibly flavorful and filling” as the half-pound wagyu beef burger includes pastrami, Swiss, Russian dressing, Hauula tomatoes, romaine, balsamic onion on a brioche bun and is served with french fries.

Kalapawai is also rolling out a new and exciting wine list featuring Cave Mont Blanc Prie Blanc, Rivera Violante Nero di Troia and a wonderful Scherrer Pinot Noir.

Crab & Artichoke Dip ($16)

“This list focuses on small family owned producers and is curated by our wine and beverage director Nate Aoyagi, who is responsible for the Kalapawai Wine Club,” notes Moon. “Our KWC members are on a month-to-month membership, which consist of four hand selected bottles, a 10% off coupon for dinner and complimentary corkage for $110.”

In addition to the new items on the dinner menu and wine list, the restaurant also features a nightly Chef’s Special. Kalapawai Café & Deli also has locations in Kailua Town, Kailua Beach and Kapolei.
