Feel the warm, welcoming vibe at Kalapawai Café & Deli’s newest location in Waimanalo, where its delectable dinner menu has just debuted.
“We wanted to provide the neighborhood with a place for full-service dining in Waimanalo,” says operations manager Kat Moon. Serving what Hawaii craves since 1932, Kalapawai Market has several other locations in Kailua Beach, Kailua Town and Kapolei, each offering a distinct experience. In addition, all proudly feature locally sourced ingredients whenever possible on the menus, which are designed to fuel every local lifestyle.
The café’s Waimanalo new dinner menu is “focused on shareable local favorites and entrées, as well as a balanced menu for vegetarians, pescatarians and meat lovers alike,” states Moon.
Kalapawai’s mouthwatering Poke Nachos ($16) is an appetizer for the whole table to share, topped with spicy ahi, avocado, kimchi, wasabi aioli, kabayaki, togarashi and pickled ginger.
For fans of protein, try the café’s crispy Lechon Kawali ($14), a fried pork belly tossed with sweet and sour lomi tomato. The Eggplant Parmesan ($16) is a perfect choice for a vegetarian meal, and is served with San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella and spaghetti. Customers can also find a nightly Chef’s Dinner Special on the new menu. Accompany your meal with any of the café’s local beers, local ciders, wines and house sangrias.
Dinner service runs from 3:30 to 8 p.m. every night of the week at Waimanalo, and indoor and outdoor seating is available. Walk-in only, as reservations are currently not being taken.
