Seafood lovers, rejoice — Sansei in Waikiki has reopened after a long hiatus.
“We are very excited to be reopened and so are our longtime guests,” says general manager Eileen Bailey-Marchan.
She and the rest of the staff are excited to welcome new additions to the menu, while also bringing back some classics. One new dish is the 8-ounce Filet of Beef Tenderloin with Jumbo Shrimp & Crab Oscar ($68). The prime filet is pan-seared to your taste and served with garlic mashed potatoes and local vegetable of the day. The meat is served with a miso-béarnaise sauce and garnished with Alii mushrooms.
The restaurant is also bringing back its award-winning Panko Crusted Ahi Sashimi ($16.50), which is fresh ahi tuna wrapped with arugula and spinach. The fish is panko crusted, flash fried and served with a soy wasabi butter sauce.
“Most of our guests order at least one of these rolls,” says Bailey-Marchan.
Another popular dish is the Hamachi Carpaccio ($18.50), which is sliced thin with masago, shiso and jalapeños in a yuzu kosho truffle ponzu.
“We will be resuming our early bird 50% off special on Sundays and Mondays from 5:15 to 6 p.m.,” concludes Bailey-Marchan. “This is first-come, first-served and has been extremely popular in the past.”
