Appetito Craft Pizza & Wine Bar offers classic Italian fare with local influences amid an elevated yet casual experience in the heart of Waikiki.
Skilled chefs captivate guests as they “watch the magic unfold” in Appetito’s open kitchen. Hand-stretched Neapolitan-style pizza is cooked to perfection in a 900-degree kiawe wood pizza oven, and traditional Italian cuisine is accented with a modern flair.
Appetito Craft Pizza & Wine Bar general manager Stephen “Kazu” Kato explains that the menu is “designed to encourage sharing, allowing guests to sample various menu items and delight in culinary creativity. Many of our creations provide a fantastic marriage with our quality wine selections. To pay tribute to the restaurant’s beautiful setting in Waikiki, select dishes feature modern twists with subtle nods to the Hawaiian culture using local ingredients.”
Portobello Fries ($15) is an Appetito favorite, as flash-fried portobello mushrooms are served with a pesto aioli. Boquerones Pizza ($22) is a popular choice right out of the piping-hot oven with white anchovies, mozzarella, bell peppers and Italian parsley.
Diners can also enjoy a brand-new special: Lobster Mac & Cheese ($35, limited quantity available daily), as this cheesy macaroni favorite is accented with a rich bechamel sauce, crab meat and shrimp topped with buttery Maine lobster tail.
Kato encourages guests to enjoy the “best happy hour in Waikiki” daily from 3 to 6 p.m., prior to dinner service. During happy hour, kamaaina receive 15% off with a valid photo ID (excludes alcohol and happy hour menu items).
