Ramping up the excitement in Waikiki is the latest culinary venture to come from famed local chef and restaurateur Chai Chaowasaree — KALO: Hawaiian Food by Chai’s. This restaurant features fine dining that adds a touch of upscale flair to Hawaiian cuisine.

Located at Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach, it opened its doors three months ago, thus filling a niche for local food in the neighborhood.

The eatery is offering a limited-time special complete dinner at $35 per person, with a minimum of two people.

It includes Ahi Limu Poke, Short Ribs Pipikaula, Kalua Pork and Beef Stew. Other items in this sumptuous meal are Chicken Long Rice, Chicken Luau, Lomi Salmon, Garlic Noodles with Scallions and Bacon Bits, Steamed Rice, along with Haupia for dessert.

“This special is available for both dine-in and takeout and valid for two weeks only,” Chaowasaree notes.

“It’s such a good price, and for kamaaina only,” he adds.

French Toast with poached pear and berries confit ($20)

This dinner is not on the menu, so customers need to mention Dining Out when ordering,Chaowasaree explains.

Meanwhile, don’t forget that the establishment also has an array of breakfast orders available daily.

These delights include sweet treats such as the Thick Cut Hawaiian Sweet Bread French Toast served with poached pear and berries confit ($20).

Meanwhile, the Loco Moco ($18), is a hearty beloved local favorite that features steamed rice, hamburger steak, a signature gravy and sunny side-up eggs.
