Just steps away from the shore is Seaside Grill, one of The Kahala Hotel & Resort’s more casual dining restaurants. The beachfront eatery welcomes walk-in guests from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
The menu boasts everything from tasty island-inspired appetizers — like a Kalua Pork Cheese Quesadilla ($17) or Hawaiian Style Nachos ($17) — to healthy salads and bowls. Try the Kahala House Salad ($12) or Chinese Chicken Salad ($18). For a fruitier option, the Hawaiian Style Acai Bowl ($15) is presented inside of a pineapple and packed with bananas, berries, house-made granola and local honey.
Sandwiches, on the other hand, are a beach day classic. You can’t go wrong with the Seaside Grill Club Sandwich ($18), which brings together sliced turkey, bacon, romaine lettuce and tomato on organic multigrain bread. Those seeking a vegan option, though, can try “Braddah Daves” Taro Burger ($24), featuring super food ingredients, grilled Portobello mushroom, melted Daiya cheese, Kula field greens and tomatoes.
On days that are designed for a little R&R, give one of Seaside Grill’s many custom cocktails a go. Specialty drink Royal Pine ($29), for example, offers hints of peach, pineapple and banana with Coruba dark rum and just a dash of coconut. It can also be made without alcohol for all ages to enjoy.
