Mahina & Sun’s at The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club serves happy hour all day, every day off its lanai menu from noon to 8 p.m. — a great deal, right? — and diners can order takeout style and have it delivered to their table.
That’s just a little slice of paradise that’s been in place for quite some time now, and recently the restaurant has added even more to suit every palate.
New are plate lunch ($12 meals) and drink specials for every day of the week.
On Mondays, grab some Carnitas Tacos or head down on Tuesdays for Hamburger Steak — both with an accompanying 20-ounce margarita ($10) if you prefer. Wednesdays feature Fries & Wings, with bottles of wine half off and a large Sangria for just $10. Tantalize your tastebuds with Fish & Chips on Thursdays, which go great with $5 draft beers. Then, end the week with a local favorite in the Beef Chili over Rice — and celebrate with happy hour cocktails priced at just $10 for 20-ounce servings.
Weekends are for brunch, and Mahina & Suns has got you covered with an Egg Sammie with Kale ($12, but add bacon for $3). Saturday drink specials are $10 well liquors, and Sundays features a $10 bloody mary or mimosa — because no Sunday brunch is complete without a libation.
But that’s not all. In addition to the fair amount of food, expect some great entertainment, like live music from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays; The Big Chill (featuring tunes from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s every first Saturday); Pau Hana Fridays every second and fourth of the month; and Old School by the Pool Silent Disco that takes place every third Saturday. And no story about a Waikiki eatery would be complete without a little note about parking. For now, Mahina & Sun’s and The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club are offering patrons free validated parking through 2020 at its off-site location at Hyatt Centric.
