Dine in at DB Grill starting Friday

There’s been a lot going on inside DB Grill as the restaurant prepares to open its doors for dine-in service June 5, though seating at the bar will remain closed until further notice.

“We (will) stay on top of any changes to dine-in service guidelines and remain flexible so that we can continue to create a dining experience that makes our guests feel safe,” assures partner Jin Hong.

From rearranging and eliminating much of its furniture to adhere to the 6-foot social distancing guidelines to installing glass barriers at its host stand and putting in hand sanitizer stations throughout the space, management and staff have done everything to make sure guests are safe — and fed!

Fans of the modern Asian bistro’s takeout menu can look forward to some of the same items for the time being, and can still pickup curbside.

Those wanting to take a seat and enjoy the hip ambiance will enjoy some new items based on guest feedback and feature locally sourced and produced ingredients.

“It’s important for us to support local agriculture and to keep the money in Hawaii right now,” says Hong.

Opt for a Kauai shrimp appetizer that’s marinated and grilled to perfection — and ideal for sharing. As a main dish, the Kimchi Fried Rice ($17.50) features Waianae eggs that are fried atop a bed of the restaurant’s famous homemade staple.

It doesn’t get much better than homecooked Korean dishes. Well, it kind of does because neighboring Mad Bene, DB Grill’s sister restaurant, is also opening its doors for dining in on Friday.
