Besides the Ovation Wine Dinner, Stage will offer future menu items like Steamed Catch of the Day.

Prepare your taste buds for another exciting culinary adventure shining brightly on the horizon this month at Stage Restaurant, located inside the Honolulu Design Center. The next Ovation Wine Dinner ($65; $35 for optional wine pairing) is Tuesday, March 31.

This multi-course meal will feature a Thai cuisine theme with dishes expertly crafted by chef du jour Wesley Soliven.

Offered on the last Tuesday of each month, every one of these wine dinners focuses on a special rotating type of cuisine, product or style.

This month’s Ovation Wine Dinner starts off with an amuse bouche of Thai Summer Roll. The beginning to the meal includes ground pork, refreshing sprigs of mint, cucumber and island greens.

Next, the inspired first course for the meal will be Papaya Salad. Sure to be a pleaser for diners, the salad features succulent poached lobster tail, green papaya and grape tomatoes. Other artful touches in this breathtaking dish are toasted rice powder, shrimp powder and lime vinaigrette.

Diners can enjoy digging into some meaty protein for the Fried Chicken second course. In this presentation, lemongrass fried chicken will be accompanied by sticky rice and mango. Finishing off the dish are satisfying bits of crispy garlic, peanuts and cilantro.

Thai food is famed throughout the world for its fragrant, flavorful curries, and the Ovation Wine Dinner will certainly honor that tradition. For the third course, chef Soliven will present Green Coconut Beef Curry. It features tender braised beef, eggplant, sweet potato and basil, accompanied by roti.

Don’t forget to leave room for dessert, which will be prepared by Stage Restaurant’s renowned pastry chef Cainan Sabey. Capping off the meal in fine fashion will be his Thai Tea Sherbert, paired with coconut lime gelee, mango coconut sticky rice and banana caramel.

Nestled on the second floor of the Honolulu Design Center, Stage Restaurant serves innovative world-inspired meals, kicked up with local comfort themes.

This combination gives patrons a familiar but thoroughly modern food experience. In addition to the upcoming Ovation Wine Dinner, Stage also has a variety of innovative new meat, seafood, vegetable and other dishes on the restaurant’s daily menu for patrons to explore.
