For a quarter-century New Mui Kwai Chop Suey in Kailua has been offering patrons an extensive array of delicious Chinese food. The menu features nearly 200 items, with plenty of options for vegetarians and meat-eaters.

Owner Wesley Fang and his friendly staff pride themselves on their modern interpretations of classic dishes and using only the highest quality fresh ingredients.

Honey Walnut Shrimp ($14.95)

One of the most popular items is BBQ Minute Chicken Cake Noodle ($10.95), offering crisp yet moist and tender bites of savory deliciousness.

Honey Walnut Shrimp ($14.95) features a full plate of jumbo shrimp along with the sweet tastes of honey and walnuts.

Crispy Gau Gee ($11.95)

Another shrimp option is the Salt Pepper Garlic Kahuku Shrimp ($11.95). New Mui uses local ingredients whenever possible, and this dish is no exception, with fresh Kahuku shrimp elevating the flavors of this fragrant, flavorful delight.

For a refreshingly light dish, try the Chinese Chicken Salad ($9.95). And of course, Crispy Gau Gee (10 pieces for $11.95) is the perfect accompaniment to any Chinese meal.

New Mui Kwai Chop Suey celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and is offering a customer appreciation special to mark the occasion. For every $100 spent at the eatery, diners will receive a $15 gift card to use on their next visit. Additionally, for every $225 spent, diners will receive $25 toward their next purchase.

Fang says the gift cards may be used at the family-owned bakery, run by his wife. The Sing Cheong Yuan Bakery on 1027 Maunakea St. in Chinatown serves up an array of Chinese desserts, pastries, savory buns and more.
