There’s so much to love about eating pasta, a deliciously chewy food that comes in a seemingly endless supply of fun-looking shapes and sizes to hold all that delectable sauce. Therefore, there are plenty of reasons to rejoice in the fact that National Pasta Day rapidly approaches right around the corner.
Yellow Cab Pizza Co. on Dillingham Boulevard will happily indulge customers in their pasta passion — the restaurant is offering 50 percent off all pasta orders on National Pasta Day, Thursday, Oct. 17.
All pasta dishes come with a choice of noodles — spaghetti, penne (tube shaped) or fusilli (screw shaped). Gluten-free pasta is available for an additional $2.50 per order.
One of the fan favorites at the eatery in the Costco Iwilei complex is Chicken Pesto ($8.95) featuring tender chicken strips and sundried tomatoes tossed in freshly made pesto sauce. This dish was recently added to the restaurant’s pasta selection and quickly caught on among patrons. The pesto sauce is made with fresh Italian basil and mushrooms can be added to the plate for an additional $1. The pasta is also available as Shrimp Pesto for $10.95.
Aglio Olio Shrimp Pasta ($10.95) provides an appetizing mixture of shrimp, basil and sun-dried tomatoes sauteed in garlic and olive oil and tossed with spaghetti or penne pasta. Diners can also add anchovies for $1 more.
Meanwhile, another item that customers love is Seafood Alfredo ($12.95) pasta. It features a made-to-order Alfredo sauce, calamari, mussels and shrimp. This pasta can be ordered as a party platter, which for a price of $42 can feed five to seven people.
Providing a zesty Asian flair to spaghetti, diners can opt for Charlie Chan Chicken Pasta ($8.95). This menu item is similar to Kung Pao chicken, which adds a bit of spice to the mix. This pasta can be a welcome addition to anything encompassing restaurant’s menu, which includes pizza, chicken wings, salads, desserts, espresso coffee and more.
Besides a la carte orders, the pastas also all come in party platter size. Additionally, online ordering is available on the company’s website.
