Salt and Pepper Shrimp ($9.95)

Golden Palace in Honolulu’s Chinatown truly stands the test of time as a place where anyone can feast like royalty.

The restaurant can hold up to 450 people for gatherings and there is an available full stage and sound system. Guests can even rent out the entire banquet hall. It also custom-caters menus suited for any budget or choice of specific dishes.

Manager Gary Lam explains that Golden Palace is gearing up for the holiday season and accepting reservations.

Garlic Crispy Skin Chicken (half $12.95, whole $25)

The business is open every day, and dim sum service starts at 7 a.m. each morning with the island’s most affordable, highest quality, generously portioned selection at only $2.69 per order. There’s also a takeout area for dim sum to suit customers who are on the go.

Among the popular delights at the restaurant is the Garlic Crispy Skin Chicken (half $12.95, whole $25). This tender chicken is seasoned and marinated with a special coating of house spices inside and out to keep the flavor evenly distributed. After being deep fried until its skin is golden, minced deep-fried garlic is laid over the chicken while it’s still hot.

Szechuan Style Eggplant ($6.95)

Another customer favorite is the String Beans with Minced Garlic and Black Beans ($7.95). Fresh string beans are stir-fried at high heat to keep them crunchy and combined with hand-diced black beans for a fuller flavor, in a minced garlic sauce.

Golden Palace’s Szechuan Style Eggplant ($6.95) consists of flash-fried eggplant, keeping it from falling apart or getting too soft. This item combines the eggplant with shredded pork, bamboo shoots, black fungus and green onions, along with minced chili peppers.

It’s all stir-fried with a made-from-scratch sauce that’s slightly spicy and tangy.

However, customers can order the dish to taste — from mild, to less spicy or extra spicy.

For seafood aficionados, Golden Palace has an abundance of choices in which to indulge. They include the Salt and Pepper Shrimp ($9.95), a dish which focuses on juicy, whole, deep-fried shrimp. Next, they are tossed with shredded chili peppers, diced green onions and minced garlic. Everything is tossed together and cooked in a house spice and seasoning mixture.
