The 37th annual Hawaii United Okinawa Association Okinawan Festival will be held at the Honolulu Convention Center Saturday, Aug. 31 and Sunday, Sept. 1.
“Through the month of August, when you make a purchase at any Zippy’s location, you can get a coupon for $1 off admission to the Okinawan Festival with your order,” shares Jay Crisologo, creative specialist for Zippy’s Restaurants. Some restrictions may apply.
A portion of the proceeds from each Shoyu Pork plate sold from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. until the end of the month will be donated to the Hawaii United Okinawa Association, which runs the upcoming Okinawan Festival. Donations will also be taken at designated boxes at all Zippy’s locations. (Note that prices may vary at different locations.)
In addition, Zippy’s has a special deal this month on its Spaghetti & Chicken Mixed Plate for only $7.99 fast food and $9.20 in the restaurant.
For the month of August, Napoleon’s Bakery is offering tropical inspired Flavor of the Month items for a limited time and prices may vary by location. Among them is the Pineapple Snack Cake ($1.80) providing sweet pineapple mixed in a moist and rich cake, topped with crushed pineapple.
Another of the tropical treats is Lychee Boba Cake ($12.75). This is a 6-inch vanilla chiffon cake filled with lychee whipped cream and lychee boba. The delightful dessert is frosted with more lychee whipped cream and decorated with lychee boba pearls on top.
A third Flavor of the Month item is the Guava Cream Cheese Square ($3.15). A guava gelatin-topped cream cheese square is nestled with a graham cracker crust on the bottom.
The fourth fun fruit-filled tropical treat is the Lilikoi Bar ($2.45). A buttery shortbread cookie crust is baked with a lilikoi curd topping.
Finally, the fifth Napoleon’s featured item is the new Pineapple Fritter ($1.65). It’s a donut fritter with juicy pieces of pineapple mixed right in.
In the month of August, Asian Chicken Salad ($10.35 fast food, $11.90 restaurant) and Mini Oxtail Soup ($14.75 fast food and restaurant) are available for a limited time at Zippy’s.
Wrapping things up in delicious fashion, one of exclusive entrees at Zippy’s dine-in restaurant is the Chinatown Steamed Asian Sea Bass ($18.90, restaurant only).
